Paul Lewis

Paul Lewis was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in NSW in 1990 and in Queensland in 1992. Paul has practiced in the family law area since 1990. He has conducted hundreds of mediations since 1994, following his mediation training in Queensland (at Bond Uni and through the Community Justice Program.) Paul became a collaboratively trained lawyer in 2005. He continues to promote the use of team based collaborative processes for clients looking to divorce with dignity.

Since 1990, Paul has practiced in all areas of family law. In his early years of practice, he worked in other areas of law, such as personal injury law, bankruptcy, small business and commercial agreements, retail leases, and anti-discrimination law- valuable experience when they arise in a family law case.

Paul therefore has experience in all aspects of family law and family conflict. He is an advocate of client-centric practice and trauma informed service provision. He has a reputation for dealing with challenging cases. His referrers include counsellors, psychologists, mediators, solicitors and barristers, accountants, former Judges, and word of mouth referrals from former clients.

Paul volunteered on the Family Law Committee of the NSW Law Society for 19 years, and he continues to serve on the Dispute Resolution Committee. He is accredited by the NSW Law Society as an Accredited Specialist in both Family Law and Dispute Resolution. He is a past President of ADRA Inc. (Australian Dispute Resolution Association.) He has been an editorial consultant of the ADRJ (Australasian Dispute Resolution Journal) for over 20 years. Paul has also lectured in Family Law and Practical Legal Training at WSU (Western Sydney University.)
