Sophie has worked exclusively in family law since 2015. Prior to joining Ramsden Lawyers in 2020, Sophie worked as a family lawyer at leading boutique family law firms, and volunteered at local community legal centres.
Sophie takes a transparent, positive and pragmatic approach to assist her clients to navigate the complexities of the family law system, whilst showing them the empathy they deserve.
Sophie has experience and particular interest in complex parenting and property settlement matters. She enjoys working cooperatively with experts from other disciplines (including psychologists, psychiatrists, family therapists, social workers, accountants and commercial lawyers) to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients and minimize conflict where possible.
Sophie takes a level-headed approach to help her clients remain calm in what can be a very stressful situation. She is a determined and diligent negotiator and trusted advisor, and has the ability to understand underlying dynamics in marriages and de-facto relationships, including same sex couples. Sophie utilises these insights to navigate emotional drivers.
Sophie is actively involved within her professional bodies, including preparing and presenting CPD material within the family law realm.
