Maggie Faddoul
Special Counsel

Maggie Faddoul is Special Counsel at Ramsden Lawyers, with more than 13 years of experience working in family law. She is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a collaboratively trained lawyer. She also holds a Master of Applied Law with a specialisation in family law.
Maggie advises and represents clients across a wide range of family and relationship law matters, including property settlements, parenting arrangements, financial agreements, spousal maintenance and matters involving family violence.
She has considerable experience resolving complex financial matters arising from relationship breakdowns. Maggie has acted in cases involving significant asset pools, business interests, companies and trusts. Her work often requires the careful identification and tracing of assets, the coordination of appropriate valuations and a detailed examination of complex financial structures and arrangements.
In parenting matters, Maggie represents clients in private negotiations as well as court proceedings. She has acted in challenging disputes involving allegations of family violence, concerns about safety, high levels of conflict and complex parenting dynamics.
Maggie understands that the consequences of a parenting dispute can extend well beyond the conclusion of the legal process. She takes care to ensure that her clients’ experiences and concerns are clearly presented while remaining conscious of the need to minimise children’s exposure to parental conflict.
Maggie also assists clients with issues that arise where separation and estate planning overlap. She can advise on how a change in personal circumstances may affect an existing estate plan and the steps that may be appropriate to protect a client’s future interests.
She regularly represents clients at mediations, interim hearings and final hearings. Her experience as both a mediator and a litigator provides valuable insight into the different ways a family law matter can be resolved. Maggie helps clients assess the available options and determine the most appropriate path for their particular circumstances.
From the beginning of each matter, Maggie focuses on understanding the issues the client needs to resolve and what a positive outcome means to them. She works closely with each client to establish a clear strategy that protects their legal and financial position while seeking to reduce unnecessary conflict, cost and delay.
Maggie is skilled at explaining complex legal, factual and financial issues in clear and accessible terms. Her advice is direct, thoughtful and practical, helping clients make informed decisions about their children, finances and future. She keeps clients updated throughout their matter and gives them the opportunity to fully explain their circumstances, concerns and priorities.
Her approach brings together empathy, thorough preparation and strategic judgment. Maggie recognises that the way a family law dispute is managed can have an enduring impact on everyone involved. She therefore aims to conduct each matter with dignity and to achieve outcomes that are legally sound, practical and sustainable.
Maggie was drawn to family law because it allows her to combine detailed legal analysis with the opportunity to support people during periods of significant personal change. She finds particular satisfaction in helping clients move beyond uncertainty and develop a clearer understanding of their position, their options and the next chapter of their lives.
