Marius Eden

Marius Eden is a Partner (non-principal) in the Family Law division at Ramsden Lawyers. With over 30 years of legal experience across two continents, Marius is a highly respected Family Law Lawyer who oversees operations of the firm’s Family Law departments at both the Gold Coast and Brisbane offices.

He is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, and an AMDRAS Accredited Mediator.

Marius began his legal career in South Africa, where he practiced for ten years and worked on a range of high-profile and complex matters. His work included constitutional litigation against the South African government (post-apartheid), representing clients in murder trials, and advising embassies such as Venezuela, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia on labour law and contractual matters. He also acted for private individuals and businesses, including a renowned international artist and retired public company directors.

Since relocating to Australia 21 years ago, Marius has practiced exclusively in Family Law. In 2015, he became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and has successfully represented clients in matters including property settlements, parenting disputes, same-sex parenting, and international child relocation cases.

Notably, Marius has advised high-net-worth individuals in complex family law matters, including a case involving a combined gross asset pool of nearly $100 million. He has also acted in three separate cases involving lottery winners, where the respective winnings were $26 million and $30 million in two of the cases. He has also represented a client before the AAT in a child support matter.

Marius acted as mediator in Family Law and commercial matters, notably also representing a corporate client in a mediation in the Netherlands.

Driven by a strong sense of fairness and a genuine commitment to his clients, Marius is known for his ability to quickly assess complex situations, communicate with clarity, and deliver strategic, compassionate legal solutions. He is widely respected in the industry for his humility, analytical approach, professionalism and focusing on achieving cost-effective outcomes without compromising on the matters at hand, or dispute in question.

Outside of his legal practice, Marius is a competitive sportsman. He is a single handicap golfer, an avid cyclist and tennis player, and enjoys regular workouts at the gym. He values quality time with his family and finds relaxation in beach walks.
